Check out ThemeIsle!

I’ve used the “Zerif Lite” theme from ThemeIsle on a test site and I gotta say I’m impressed! It’s a one page responsive scrolling site with a lot of configurable sections and settings. It is a very clean theme and everything is done through the Customizer.

It starts out with a parallax “Main content” section (you can turn any of the sections off if you want) and then has several sections as follows:

  • Main content
  • Features
  • BottomButton Ribbon (Call to Action section)
  • About
  • RightButton Ribbon (Call to Action section)
  • Clients Area
  • Our Focus Section
  • Our Team Section
  • Testimonials Section
  • Latest News section (blog posts)
  • Contact us section
  • 3 footer sections
  • Contact info & Copyright section

It includes parallax effects, motion effects, circular percentage graphs, icons, and more. You get a lot with just the free version but if you want the Pro version it adds features such as Portfolio, Packages section, Subscribe section, google map section, and more.

And if that’s not enough, it works with the SiteOrigin Page Builder and Widgets bundle which I reviewed previously. Now that’s a winning combination!

I’ve rediscovered SiteOrigin!

I played around with the SiteOrigin Page Builder a few years ago but I recently ran across it again and decided to try it for one of my test sites. I must say I am impressed! Best of all it works with any theme and on top of all that, it’s FREE!

They have their SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin, SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin, and their SiteOrigin CSS plugin all in the WordPress Repository/Directory. I don’t use the CSS plugin a lot but it is nice to target your CSS objects. I generally like to use the CSS option under Appearance->Customize because you can immediately see the changes to the page.

The exciting part is the Page Builder and Widgets Bundle plugins. They give you as much power and control over your site as Premium plugins, builders, and Frameworks! And I know this because I own several with lifetime updates and seriously, I’m considering switching to SiteOrigin exclusively. On top of all the aforementioned free stuff, they even have free themes and “site packs”┬áthat are built using their free plugins!

You can disable the Header section to build your own, create “templates” to format pages differently, it’s responsive, you control the CSS, and you can even use your own PSD’s to create a totally custom site. It is easy to learn too!

You’ve got to try it out yourself. Just login to your WordPress Admin console and go to Plugins->Add New and search for “SiteOrigin” and choose the plugins where the author is “SiteOrigin” too.
